If We Are Love...

If we are indeed love, which I feel to be true, then how can love be outside of us? That is my question today. If we are love then love isn't something objective but subjective, something inside of us being reflected outwardly. Interesting. I need to explore this.

Maybe we can agree that love is not a tangible thing. It is like the air we breathe, we know it is there but we cannot touch it. We either feel it or we don't, but even when we aren't feeling it does that mean it isn't there? We can deny the existence of air, but we are still breathing. Even if we hold our breath, we can only hold it for so long before we must take that deep inhalation of this invisible but obviously present source. The air around us can be polluted and maybe our views on love can be too. When we allow ourselves to become overly burdened by life, worries, or build walls we are blocking ourselves from that love. This doesn't mean it isn't there, just that we are not able to receive it.

Giving and receiving.... I pause reflecting on this concept because how do we factor in this if we are love? If love is a state of being and not a feeling then what are we actually giving and receiving? A part of ourselves? When we love are we sharing ourselves with each other, which is love? Or have we, as humans, forgotten our true selves (love) and we are exchanging an idea of love with one another? Maybe it is both?

Bear with me now, I am working this out within me also. Talking myself through my thoughts and feelings at times may take me down long, windy and even rocky roads but eventually I get there. Sometimes my very human self is a little slow on the uptake if you know what I mean. *wink*

If you will allow me this small or perhaps big indulgence, what if we really are a divine spark of this energy we call God (or whatever name you may use for this source)? And this energy we call "God" is love? No matter what name you may give it, i.e. God, Allah, Jehovah, Higher Self or highest state of consciousness, or Sugmad (an ancient name for God), can it be agreed upon that all of these have one thing in common and that common thread is love? And if this is so...why are we so intolerant of each other and our beliefs? What are we fighting about? Ah, I digress, but perhaps it is all relevant in the end.

Today's mission: BE LOVE. Test this theory. If we are love in action, how does this change the day we have created for ourselves? I'm not talking about mushy love; sometimes love is knowing when to stand your ground but doing it in a loving way or respecting yourself and others. If we are all love then we aren't seeing a person by color, race, creed or sex. We are seeing them and ourselves as the energy called love.

I will end with a quote that I will paraphrase because it's been said so many times I'm not sure where it originated. We are all spiritual (or loving) beings having a human experience. Did you hear that? We are all spiritual beings having a human experience. If we take that as truth then is it only a matter of changing our perspective? Meaning...instead of saying I am only human, would it manifest differently if we reminded ourselves we are love in human form?
